The Technical Sales Manager Photonics & Imaging job itself where you will be responsible for business development of Photonics and Imaging products from technical design to commercial account management. Solutions focused, and proactive approach to understanding market requirements to identify new customers.
To develop a business strategy to continuously develop a sustainable new demand creation funnel and convert current opportunities to achieve the Sales and Margin budgets and KPI targets. To build and maintain long-term relationships with both new and existing customers. To develop a solution to existing and new customers. Supervise team of 3.
More specifically:
- Proactively identify new customers and target markets to grow and convert a sustainable demand creation funnel.
- Follow-up and develop business leads with new and existing customers.
- To maintain customer profile forms to ensure business strategies are clearly visible.
- Ensure close working relationships with key suppliers and conduct monthly reviews of key projects.
- Achievement of monthly and annual sales/margin targets and personal objectives.
- Maintain a good understanding of product groups to improve cross sell opportunities.
- Attend regular meetings to discuss progress to sales forecasts and activities to ensure objectives are being met.
- Present and demonstrate to customers the benefits of products in terms of specification, quality, price, technical benefits, logistics support, timely delivery, etc.
- Successfully negotiating, implementing, and managing contracts & winning orders to meet the customer & company’s expectations.
- Provide detailed feedback and reports on sales activities to Line Manager.
- Timely management of any administrative duties including:
- Planning & Organising work schedule and set up of appointments / visits.
- Updating and maintaining CRM database records.
- Forecasting, monitoring, and evaluating sales figures for the region.
- To participate in Exhibitions, Sales meetings, and other meaningful activities as required.
- To ensure that all activities/tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and the Quality / ISO system
You will have
To be successful as Technical Sales Manager Photonics & Imaging, you will have a healthy mix of the following:
- Electronics or similar degree.
- Knowledge and design experience with Photonics and Imaging
- Previous responsibility for implementing sales plans, resolution of technical issues, quotations, steering the sales process and identifying new business opportunities
- Knowledge of customer base, markets, and applications.
- Demonstrable experience in building strong internal and external relationships.
- Supporting the Field Sales Engineers in their primary role of developing new business, product specification and successfully closing opportunities.
- Previous experience in gathering market information to identify new customers.
- Computer literate; proficient in the use of Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Self-motivated - enthusiasm and drive to succeed.
- Good at time management and focussing on objectives.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on an individual basis.
- Creative – able to think ‘outside the box’.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good presentation skills
- Valid driving licence.
- Presents themselves professionally.
- Able to travel to meet customers and suppliers
