The Technical Writer/Technical Author job itself where you will create and maintain technical documents, including instruction manuals, user guides, and product specifications (commissioning documents, Instruction manual, SOP’s, Maintenance schedules, Spares list & Training package & ongoing requirements for planned upgrades). More specifically:
- Demonstrate proficiency in authoring tools, particularly FrameMaker, for formatting and templating documentation.
- Utilize MS Office tools effectively, including Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Possess a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including controls, to accurately document product functionalities.
- Produce illustrations using SolidWorks and other design software to enhance technical documentation.
- Interpret P&ID style drawings and electrical schematics with precision.
- Display excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in documentation tasks.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and collaborate closely with engineering teams.
You will have
To be successful as a Technical Writer/Technical Author, you will be a versatile individual with a blend of technical writing proficiency, engineering expertise, and a can-do attitude. Plus, a healthy mix of the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering &/or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a related field
- Proven experience in technical writing roles.
- Proficiency in specialist authoring tools such as FrameMaker
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software for illustrations.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards in all aspects of work.
