The Sheet Metal Worker job itself where you will undertake a variety of processes including the detailed assembly of components and associated assemblies involving metals, composites and plastics using traditional manual craft skills, to the required quality standards and the production schedule. More specifically:

  • Using riveting and adhesives for fixings
  • Using a variety of assembly/fitting tools and equipment.
  • Undertaking self-inspection and quality checks.
  • Carry out 5S duties and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all relevant Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times including Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, SSW’s arising from RA’s/COSHH and Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Produce seat backrest and sitting platform assemblies in aluminium glass fibre and carbon fibre.                
  • Fit hardware and furniture using a range of aerospace fasteners, adhesives and Velcro. Trim with temperature sensitive edging.
  • Trimming, filing and grinding surfaces, using hand tools, portable tools and pedestal mounted equipment.

You will have

To be successful as Sheet Metal Worker you will have experience in one or more of the following; riveting processes, operating vertical milling machines, gluing/bonding processes, presses or injection molding. Plus a healthy mix of the following:

  • GCSE Grades 7-3 or equivalent
  • Basic computing skills
  • Manual dexterity
  • Familiar with engineering hand tools
  • Solid verbal communication skills. Attention to detail
  • High degree of concentration skills. Team player – with the ability to work independently
  • Basic administration skills
  • Broad experience of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Basic background in H&S policies and procedures.

As Sheet Metal Worker, you will enjoy a salary of £27.75K-£30K + OT + Package.

  • OT 1.5 x all extra hours, 2 x for hours done before 7AM, Sunday & BH
