You will like

The Quantity Surveyor job itself, where you will lead both the pre and post contract commercial function for the smart buildings sector, in line with strategy and budget. Provide leadership and direction within the business on commercial matters. Be responsible for ensuring a rigorous and controlled environment is in place to manage risk, cost and profitability across the portfolio of projects.  More specifically:

  • Provide bid team support, highlight risk and negotiate contracts in line with company processes and procedures.
  • Upstream and downstream contract & commercial management for large projects mostly in the range of >£2m – £50m TCV. Lead and manage the commercial process and work closely with the Project Manager(s).
  • Ensure upstream and downstream applications for payment are in place and billing occurs in accordance with the contract(s).
  • Manage risk and profitability effectively across the wider portfolio (as well as for individual larger projects) as well as assisting with forecasting and budget process across the business.
  • Actively support the monthly review process and review overall commercial position for projects. Support the management of projects highlighting risks to the management team as required.

You will have                  

As Quantity Surveyor , we’re looking for a commercial construction professional for the South of the UK, who’s passionate about driving innovation in Building Management Systems (BMS) and smart building technology, with a healthy mix of the following:

  • Good track record as a Quantity Surveying role on a large project £2m+.
  • Knowledge and experience of Government Frameworks and Call Off Contracts.
  • Knowledge and experience of standard form contracts – NEC/JCT/FIDIC.
  • Highly experienced in financial control of projects, including cost control
  • Experience of dispute resolution processes.
