The Quantity Surveyor job role itself which is largely site-based, where you will be responsible to oversee all commercial aspects of high-profile listed and heritage renovations and extensions . More specifically:
- Produce accurate monthly valuations and financial applications.
- Manage comprehensive monthly commercial reports.
- Handle bulk material and sub-contract procurement efficiently.
- Manage variations to the contract and direct labour payments.
You will have
To be successful as Quantity Surveyor, we are looking for an experienced, quantity surveyor with a good understanding of traditional building methods and products associated with the refurbishment of listed buildings and up-market period houses. Plus a healthy mix of the following:
- Proven experience in commercial management of building projects, particularly renovations of listed or heritage buildings and high-end new developments.
- Relevant Degree or qualification
- Strong ability to lead as a Quantity Surveyor, ensuring project financials are within targets and maximizing profitability.
- Working closely with the Contract Manager and able to “step in” when they are not present
- Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively at all levels.
- Adept at working to deadlines, with a keen ability to manage project schedules.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction drawings and technical building details.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
