The Project Director job itself offers a compelling chance to lead large-scale projects in a fast-paced setting. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and motivating multidisciplinary project teams to meet company and client objectives
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Supervising site operations, coordinating trades, and managing site teams effectively
- Implementing safety initiatives and ensuring full compliance with health & safety regulations
- Overseeing project programming, planning, and re-programming when necessary
- Driving site housekeeping, branding, and operational standards
- Contributing to long-term client partnerships for repeat business and reputation growth
You will have
To thrive in this role, you should bring the following skills and experience:
- Degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline
- Membership of a professional body (e.g., CIOB, RICS)
- Membership of the CSCS scheme
- Valid SMSTS (CITB) and 1st Aid at Work qualification
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and technology
- Proven track record of career progression within engineering, trade, or construction roles
- Strong understanding of contract documentation, NEC, ICT contracts, and procurement practices
- Experience managing health, safety, and environmental standards proactively
- Excellent IT proficiency and experience using relevant planning and reporting software
- Robust understanding of risk management, cost/value control, and contract compliance
- Competence in multi-tasking, leadership, and customer management
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite
