The Production Manager job itself where reporting to the directors, you will ensure that our complex range of electronic and mechanical products are delivered on time and within budget to our customers.
More specifically: Planning production schedules to ensure availability and delivery of parts in line with forecasts and customer demands; sourcing reliable suppliers to secure best value terms and implementing procurement strategies that ensure quality and cost-effectiveness; developing manufacturing processes for new products; purchasing and managing stock inventory of electronic and mechanical components; determining quality control standards; managing inhouse technicians and subcontract resources as required.
You will have
To be successful as Production Manager, you will have a healthy mix of the following:
- 5+ years with proven operational experience in an engineering environment
- Prior production planning and resource management responsibilities
- Purchasing of complex machined parts from subcontract suppliers and
- Procuring electronic components/assemblies from contract manufacturers
- Engineering change management
- Developing initiatives to improve business performance, including quality targets
- Conformance to health and safety regulations
- QMS such as ISO 9000
- HND or BEng in Engineering
- Fully versed in use of ERP / MRP systems
- Strong technical knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with an attention to detail
- Knowledge of BOMS, engineering drawings and assembly instructions
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage staff and external relationships
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to communicate effectively, with a strong written and spoken English
