Based from Manchester or London, you will join a specialist Power Systems & Infrastructure team working on some of the largest, most complex and technically challenging data centre developments in the UK and internationally.

The Senior / Principal Power Systems Engineer role itself, providing specialist electrical power systems expertise from concept and feasibility through detailed design and project delivery.
Depending on experience and seniority, you will:
- Undertake and lead complex power system studies and electrical network analysis
- Deliver load flow and short circuit / fault level studies
- Complete protection coordination and discrimination studies
- Undertake arc flash assessments and transient analysis
- Develop robust LV, MV and HV power distribution solutions
- Use industry-leading software including ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or equivalent
- Support electrical infrastructure, resilience and grid connection strategies
- Produce high-quality technical calculations, reports and engineering documentation
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary electrical, mechanical, civil and infrastructure teams
- Build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Review technical outputs and provide engineering assurance
- Mentor and develop less experienced Power Systems Engineers
- At Principal level, lead technical delivery, multidisciplinary teams and key client relationships
Projects are predominantly within the rapidly expanding data centre, mission-critical and critical infrastructure markets, giving you exposure to technically sophisticated, high-value projects worldwide.
You will have
To be successful as Senior / Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will ideally be:
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or similar
- Chartered Engineer / CEng, or actively progressing towards chartership
- Experienced in power systems design, analysis and project delivery
- Strong in load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash and/or transient studies
- Experienced with ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or comparable power system analysis software
- Knowledgeable across LV, MV and/or HV electrical networks
- Experienced within data centres, utilities, renewable energy, critical infrastructure or similarly complex electrical environments
- Confident dealing directly with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Able to provide technical leadership and mentoring at Senior/Principal level
Previous data centre experience is highly attractive, although strong transferable power systems expertise from utilities, energy or other critical infrastructure environments is equally relevant.
