The HR Officer role itself where, following the progression of the incumbent, we are looking to recruit a professional and experienced HR Officer to join an HR team of 2. The team handles various conflicting demands from multiple stakeholders at any given point in time. No two days are the same, and every day is challenging with new learning. During this HR journey, you will acquire broad experience, huge professional confidence and consolidate and grow your HR skills. You will also have plenty of opportunities to gain experience or specialise in other areas of human resources. Interacting across various levels and stakeholders your business sense of HR will develop naturally and organically. Ownership of HR projects will enable you to become a lateral thinker. This role will be integrated with HR & Recruitment Manager role in that you will represent HRM in various platforms and will be willing to work on overlapping projects. The role will be developed with exposure aiming at the creation of a succession planning pipeline for future higher roles/grades as per business requirements. As an HR Officer, your main duties will be to: 

  • Design, develop and maintain HR in-house personnel database reports and analytics
  • Contribute to the maintenance of Organizational GDPR compliance 
  • Contribute to the review and update policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements and industry best practices 
  • Contribute to the Performance Management Process  
  • Contribute to the talent development initiatives by taking ownership of assigned projects of training and development programs 
  • Manage end-end cycle of recruitment, onboarding and induction processes in accordance with the company policies and industry best practices 
  • Manage end-end cycle of Employee Relations and casework e.g. capability procedure, disciplinary, grievance etc. 
  • Manage end-end cycle of separation/exit process for the assigned cases 
  • Manage end-end cycle of assigned maternity/paternity leave processes 
  • Take ownership of various HR portals 
  • Represent HR on various platforms, as and when required 
  • Build an effective working relationship with all levels of staff, provide guidance/advice on a range of HR policies and HR-related issues 
  • Be creative and proactive, continually looking for ways to improve and standardize HR Processes, recommend and propose solutions

This is a Full time, permanent position, with a nominal 37 hours per week, 8:30 – 17:00 Monday Thursday and 8:30 – 16:30 on Fridays. This is an office-based post in Bracknell.

To be successful as HR Officer you will have an “everything is POSSIBLE” attitude & your abilities to enjoy getting stuck into heavy volume projects and fast-changing priorities, resilience and an ability to deal with ambiguity and change You will enjoy this role if you have a thirst for knowledge and you are continually looking for ways to improve the systems and processes, you like teamwork, and are happy to deal with less glamorous but essential tasks and have the same comfort with complex and visible tasks. More specifically:

  • CIPD qualified or part qualified (preferable) 
  • Sound working knowledge of employment law and relevant legislation (Data Protection Act 2018, Equality Act 2010, Working Time Regulations 1998 etc.) 
  • Have experience of working as an HR generalist: advising line managers on HR such as recruitment, disciplinary investigations, flexible working and managing sickness absence 
  • Good working knowledge of QA standards 
  • Good theoretical and experiential knowledge of GDPR 
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft office) 
  • Attention to detail, professional telephone manner and the ability to multitask and good time management are essential 
  • Experience of maintaining HRIS or applicant tracking software 
  • Demonstrate strong listening, communication, organisational and prioritisation skills, excellent attention to detail, adaptability, and flexibility 
  • Good data analysis and reporting skills 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure and a 'can-do' attitude 

You will get

As HR Officer, salary depending on experience, to £30K + Package

Benefits include a Pension Scheme and 26 days holiday per year (pro-rata).
