The Electrical Designer/Electrical Design Engineer job itself where you will collaborate closely with clients, project managers/engineers and estimators to understand their requirements and develop innovative solutions.
You will be responsible for performing load calculations, equipment selection and co-ordinating with other trades to ensure we delivery an optimal system performance. In addition, you will be involved in reviewing external design solutions and will be required to conduction site inspections and provide technical support. More specifically:
- Design and develop Electrical systems for industrial and commercial premises.
- Design calculations including selection of equipment, lighting, cable sizing, maximum demand, containment, lifecycle etc.
- Assist the estimating team by sourcing quotations from suppliers and vetting quotations for compliance with employer’s requirement, specifications, and standards etc.
- Technical support for the project teams
- Stay up to date with the latest regulations and standards and merging technologies.
- Review design and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Co-ordinate with clients, architects, and project teams
You will have
To be successful as Electrical Designer/Electrical Design Engineer you will have experience working within the Building Services Sector as an Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Electrical Building Services Design Engineer, with either a Consultancy or a Contracting background. Plus a healthy mix of the following:
- HND in Electrical Engineering
- Proficient using CAD/Revit
- Proficient in Trimble design software
- Lighting design
- Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of regulations and building codes.
- Professional membership would be advantageous.
