Leading installation and service for leading automation and robotics supplier to the off-site construction industry. HQ is Swindon but you can be working remotely #WFH #WFA. This hybrid construction/manufacturing industry has a very good long term future and you will play a key role in expanding a renowned global equipment brand throughout the UK.  

You will like

The Technical Support Lead or Installation & Service Engineer job itself which is a progressive role initially focused on £MultiM installation projects for robotic equipment in construction & manufacturing. The role will evolve to include service and maintenance management over time.  More specifically:

  • Travel the UK and Ireland and service and maintain OEM machinery hands on
  • The role will consist of hands on service as well as white collar meetings and overseeing of projects.
  • Find and sign up new customers to our service contracts for commission. 
  • Oversee and work “hands-on” on installations of our machines from after order, manufacture, delivery, install and service contracts and maintain long term.
  • Oversee and organise 3rd party service providers across the UK and Ireland
  • Sell smaller scale products to customers and passing leads in house  (majority of sales leads will come from existing customers)
  • Willing to stay away during the week
  • Be available on call to “dial in” to customers and help fix their breakdown. 24/7 and weekends for some customers. (not driving to them unless in extreme circumstance)
  • Work abroad sometimes and stay in hotels.
  • Create a Health and safety file for each job and be proactive in monitoring, managing and reporting
  • Develop KPIs and recording of works to better develop the business and improve margins.
  • Training in Sweden working along side the factory staff building the machines and on site with them.  

A more detailed brief to be made available in the recruitment process. However, this is an exciting start-up situation (with strong international backing) so again the role is evolving in a dynamic situation.  This will no doubt( suit some but not others :)

You will have

To be successful as Technical Support Lead or Installation & Service Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following:

  • Qualifications in Technical/Engineering discipline.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems. 
  • Ideally exposure to automation/robotic equipment.
  • Experience of installation of capital equipment for manufacturing.
  • Experience in service and maintenance contracts and delivery.
  • Up to date with H&S requirements e.g. RAMS for UK projects.
  • Supervisory Management experience and dynamic leadership skills.
  • A passion for offsite manufacturing, modern methods of construction.
