The Quantity Surveyor role itself where you will be involved in procurement, contract administration, setting up subcontracts, monthly valuations, measurement and final account negotiation. You will be monitoring the progress of sub-contractors, cost forecasting and maintaining a good working relationship with all stakeholders. Furthermore, you will be representing the company at commercial meetings and produce quality written materials as and when required. More specifically:
- Carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales
- Prepare and monitor project cash flow forecasts
- Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations
- Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters including reviewing and drafting of correspondence
- Prepare submit and negotiate project final accounts
Work arrangements will be a mix of based from Telford HQ, #WFH Working from home or remote working, and site visits. Therefore a Midlands-based QS would be ideal!
You will have
To be successful as Quantity Surveyor you will have a healthy mix of the following:
- Substantial Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator experience
- Experience ideally gained in a similar construction sector e.g. steel construction, equipment installation, or fit-out contracting.
- Degree qualified or equivalent and/or hold or
- Working towards a professional qualification e.g. RICS (support available)
- Ability to estimate change/variations using various methods
- Able to forecast cost and measure cost of work complete
- Good negotiation skills and ability to manage expectations
- Good contractual knowledge and commercial experience
