The Project Manager job itself where reporting to the LDA Projects Team Lead you will be responsible for managing customer equipment delivery and installation projects. The technical scope involves a full range of variable speed drives as well as complete systems for rotating equipment OEMs and end clients in the Power, Oil & Gas, and Steel industries. More specifically:
- Project planning and resourcing
- Financial control of the project, maximising profits through seeking opportunities and keeping non-conformance costs at a minimum
- Project procurement and order processing, including spare parts
- Relationship management with customers and suppliers
- Work closely with the sales department and the service and commissioning personnel
- Initiation of invoicing and ensuring invoices are paid
- Expediting of factory orders
- Production and issue of project documentation
- working directly with end clients on retrofit projects, organising site work and taking care of all health & safety aspects
- Preparing monthly reports
NB The role demands some travelling, both home and abroad.
You will have
To be successful as a Project Manager you will have a good mix of the following:
- Be educated to HND/HNC level or equivalent
- Have relevant Project Management qualifications, e.g. APM or Prince 2
- Understand systems peripheral to typical Large Drive installations (e.g. HV switchgear, cooling systems, lubrication systems, etc.)
- Experience in installation and commissioning projects
- Have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Be flexible and committed to meeting the needs of the various project types
- Be experienced in using project planning tools, online tools for virtual collaboration
- Have strong administrative skills
- Have a full UK driving licence.
