The Construction Project Manager role itself which is an exciting opportunity for a capable PM to join an expanding organisation specialising in the retail automotive sector.
Working alongside the Head of Construction, in this newly created role, you will have full accountability on a number of South West & Wales based industrial/ commercial projects, each valued up to £10m. More specifically:
• Co-ordinate the submission and approval of planning applications with the assistance of external consultants. • Review designs from architects and engineers to ensure compliance with specifications. • Manage, with the assistance of Head Office, the full tendering process. • Manage consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with agreed designs. • Monitor on-site works and agreed budgets on a regular basis, achieving best value on costs and time. • Co-ordinate all internal and external stakeholders. • Build and maintain effective relationships with external consultants and key contacts. • Regular reporting to Senior Management. • Regular travel and overnight stays are essential as well as the flexibility to travel to neighbouring regions.

You will have
To be successful as Construction Project Manager you will have a healthy mix of the following:
• Degree/HNC - level education in a relevant construction discipline (desirable but not essential depending on experience). • Self-motivated and ambitious to develop and progress their career. • Experienced in project management of construction/ civil projects, particularly large, shed construction and groundworks. • Experienced in oversight of the planning process (desirable but not essential). • Understanding / Experience & Implementation of CDM 2015 roles. • Good negotiating skills & strong commercial acumen. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • The ability to multi-task and handle conflicting deadlines/multiple projects running concurrently. • Strong Microsoft Office/Project skills. • SMSTS and CSCS certificates are required. • A full driving licence and the flexibility and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
