The Inventory Control Manager job itself where you will provide direction, leadership, structure and support to your team of 7 (stock controllers, production planners, manufacturing administrators) and you will be tasked with optimising Production Planning, Stock Control and Administration functions whilst ensuring processes are efficient and cost effective.    You will manage professionally and proactively to identify and meet the needs of the business, internal and external customers, whilst setting high service standards and continuous improvements.  You will work alongside Production, Sales, Customer Service and Logistics teams to improve efficiency, meeting targets on Customer OTIF, and manage all Finished Goods, Raw and Packaging Material inventory levels in line with NWC.  More specifically:

  • Management of 7 direct reports
  • Oversee day to day operations, with full management and understanding of all the site production plans
  • Subject matter expert on production planning queries
  • Work with key stakeholders to agree best planning profile for production lines, implementing planning strategies that maximise line running efficiencies
  • Ensure the SAP system fully reflects the production planning schedules, and all processes and transactions are constantly updated
  • Oversee the operations of the Inventory Control Team, managing stocks of all raw and packaging materials and factory produced and traded finished goods stocks
  • Manage Key Sku Accounts/Product Portfolio
  • Measure, report and achieve challenging KPIs including service levels, OTIF, NWC, Forecasting, Planning, Stock Write Off, Capacity Utilisation
  • Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure stock shortages do not result in down time or delays
  • Manage factory SAP processes, running reports to validate data
  • Continuous improvement, producing reports and forecasts, statistical analysis to improve factory labour planning and production scheduling and comfortable with the presentation of same to the senior leadership team and inter-departmentally
  • Team performance and development, coaching and mentoring

Working hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, working from site and home

You will have                  

To be successful as Inventory Control Manager you will ave a healthy mix of the following:

  • Proven track record in a similar management level role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • An ideas person with the confidence to challenge the norm and strive for best practice
  • Able to demonstrate effective leadership, establishing clear expectations, supporting employee engagement and motivation
  • Proven knowledge of inventory control, production planning, goods management and distribution
  • A proven track record of achieving and exceeding KPIs and targets
  • Advanced Excel
  • SAP knowledge (or similar) desirable

You will get

As Inventory Control Manager you will command, Salary £50k; pension (employer contribution up to 9%); private medical insurance; 25 days a/l + bank holidays (increasing with service).
