The Design Engineer job itself, based at HQ in Tranmere near Birkenhead, greater Liverpool where you will be producing detailed designs and documentation for electronic instrumentation.
More specifically:
• Producing detailed engineering drawings (CEMS and gas detection systems) and document packs for issuance to production, installation, and commissioning teams. • Writing detailed technical documentation to support CEMS and Gas Detection projects. • Documentation control – ensuring all documents are created, logged and delivered on schedule. • Generating relevant documentation throughout the project lifecycle. • Working alongside the Design Manager and Systems Engineer to maintain drawing control. • Liaising with the engineering team, sales and clients regarding documentation and design requirements. • To support activities as required by the engineering team. • Update document libraries and templates. • Support the design aspect of projects through to project life cycle.
You will have
As Design Engineer you will have a healthy mix of the following:
• Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems required. • Knowledge and understanding of Gas/Fire detection systems is desirable. • Knowledge and understanding of CEM systems is advantageous. • High level of computer literacy, including AutoCAD, MS Office and Adobe Acrobat. • Capable of working independently and able to work with others to meet targets and deadlines. • Highly organised and conscientious with a keen eye for detail. • Previous experience with creating and controlling drawings and documentation. • Excellent analytical skills. Qualifications • Minimum NVQ 3 in Electrical Based Engineering. • BTEC, HNC or HND in Electrical Based Engineering desirable. • 18th Edition advantageous. • Engineering Degree such as FdEng/BEng advantageous.
