Working for a leading UK independent laboratory for testing, validation and performance of HVAC products and systems. This organisation are renowned as the benchmark in quality and offer standard testing to BS, EN and ISO for CE approval and compliance with local, national and global markets. This organisation provides a nationwide service for compliance across the UK with airtightness (Part L or Section 6), sound insulation (Part E or Section 5) and ventilation (Part F) testing and consultancy. Their services help constructors and designers comply with Building Regulations and ensure buildings are completed to design requirements.  

You will like

The home-based Compliance Engineer role itself where you will be responsible for testing new buildings using specialist equipment and reporting software. The focus of the role will be primarily on commercial and acoustic testing due to business requirements. This is a field-based role for London/South East.  The working pattern is 40 hours per week (Bank Hours Policy applies). More specifically:

  • Conducting sound insulation testing in accordance with Building Regulations Part E, Code for Sustainable Homes, BB93,
  • Conducting airtightness tests in accordance with Building Regulations Part L, and client specified standards
  • Conducting ventilation performance tests in accordance with Building Regulations Part F
  • Conducting related consultancy services as required
  • Liaising with site management
  • Fault detection
  • Results analysis and producing findings in accordance with the Company reporting procedures
  • Prepare all the necessary reports for the line manager
  • Presentation of findings to clients
  • Conduct daily routine checks of the equipment and vehicle to ensure that the equipment/vehicle is in good working condition
  • Report any faults/ repairs requirements to the line manager
  • Operate in adherence with the Corporate and applicable Client policies, procedures and rules
  • Completion of administrative duties to required timescales

You will have

To be successful as a Compliance Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following:

  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations
  • DAT course certificate
  • External ventilation testing and commissioning course certificate
  • Clean driving licence
  • Knowledge of the Company reporting procedures
  • Knowledge of the Company policies
  • CSCS card
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety Regulations
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Time management skills
  • Confident and assertive communicator with ability to positively influence and persuade
  • Prioritising skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Commercial acumen
  • Analytical mindset with ability to understand, interpret and apply regulations, standards and procedures
  • Customer focus with the aim to deliver excellent service
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Collaborative team player with dynamic and flexible approach
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office 

To be successful, you must live in Greater London area and have a full-clean driving licence.

You will get

Salary £30K - £33K PA + Vehicle + Package

Benefits include Pension Scheme, Life Assurance – 4 times annual gross reference salary (after confirmation), 26 Annual Holidays (pro-rata) and additional 8 Bank Holidays etc.
