The Financial Operations Accountant job itself where you will be responsible for
• Day to day management and monitoring of financial transactions relating to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, VAT and Cashbook. • Ensuring that any financial issues or irregularities are brought to the attention of the Finance Director. • Recording of financial transactions including posting information to the company’s accounting software from source documents. • Oversight of the supplier invoice approvals process and payments of supplier invoices • Issuing invoices to customers on behalf of sales and projects teams and ensuring that receivables are collected promptly. • Completing VAT returns, ensuring appropriate taxation for export orders, and acting as contact with HMRC for any VAT queries received. • Ensuring PAYE transactions correctly entered and reconciled, and HMRC payments are made on time (including P11D). • Balancing and reconciling the key balance sheet control accounts, including intercompany balances and all bank accounts. Key interactions with others • Daily interaction with Finance Director in support of running the department. • Daily interaction with Accounts Payable Administrator to supervise workload and to provide guidance on transaction processing in the company ERP system. • Daily interaction with procurement and department managers regarding correct coding of purchase orders in addition to the approvals process for supplier invoices and payments. • Daily interaction with the Office Manager in relation to overhead costs and assistance where needed with matters relating to Facilities Management. • Point of contact for customers and suppliers regarding invoice queries and payments. • Point of contact for external stakeholders relating to payroll, VAT and PAYE. • Point of contact for staff regarding expenses claims and other policy queries.
You will have
As Financial Operations Accountant, you will have a healthy mix of the following:
• Minimum AAT qualified or equivalent by experience • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role • Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel and finance modules of ERP systems • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work autonomously, but also a team player • French speaking would be advantageous but not essential.
