The Accountant job itself where you will be responsible for the control and maintenance of all the group’s financial systems. The main requirement is to ensure that on a constant basis the financial position is being accurately tracked and reported. The role holder, in conjunction with the Financial Controller, will ensure that business systems continue to meet and improve current business requirements and meet accounting and legal requirements.

More specifically:

• Manage and be responsible for all aspects of the accounting systems: o Maintain the general ledgers and regularly review them o Accurate and timely financial information - management accounting and projects o Review stock and stock policies and procedures o Develop and improve business software (Access Dimensions) o Cash – control, management, and forecasting o Maintain records and statutory requirements. o Information – effective control and management o Control/reporting - effective management of sales and purchase ledgers. Ensure all accounts are monitored on a regular basis, to ensure that creditor and debtor ratios are maintained within the Company objectives o Payroll system – management and reporting – all aspects, including Inland Revenue o Budgeting process o Trading/management forecasts o Statutory accounts and corporation tax o Tax / VAT / foreign currency management – dealing with regulators as necessary • Manage the finance team o Direct line responsibility of the assigned team o Deputise for the Financial Controller as needed o Identification and implementation of process improvements o Ad hoc duties as and when required

This is an office-based job with a working pattern of 37 hours per week: Mon – Thursday 8.30 am-5 pm and on Friday 8.30 am-4.30 pm

You will have

To be successful as their Accountant, you will possess a healthy mix of the following: 

• ACCA or CIMA Qualified • 3 years or equivalent experience in a similar role • Focused and clear approach - Analytical and logical problem-solving skills • Ability to work alone and as part of a team • Clear & concise communicator: Written and oral • Ability to motivate/inspire colleagues • Strong interpersonal skills • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise • Ability to work effectively under positive pressure • Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Excel & Dimensions) • Improvement mind-set
